Nutritional Therapy

For Gut Health and Happy Hormones

“There is no one-size-fits-all, and each individual is recognised as being unique”.

What is Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary therapy and is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health and individual care. A wide range of tools are used to assess and identify potential imbalances and understand how these may be contributing to symptoms and health concerns.

What we consume has a huge effect on our overall health at all stages of life, and it’s particularly  important to keep in mind when attempting to correct hormonal imbalances as the focus needs to be on specific supportive  nutrients.

But of course, what we consume daily is not limited to our plate, and in order to have a true holistic view of your health we will also dive deeper into other external factors, such as your lifestyle and environment.

The Life + Lemons Way

alternative approach to healthcare

When considering treatment at our clinic in Sheffield, your experience will be very different to being seen by a western medical practitioner. The aim is not to ‘treat you’, but for you to become a partner in your own health, as we take you on a journey towards a greater understanding of your body and improved wellbeing.

Whole systems, integrative healthcare

Whether you’re preparing your body for fertility or wanting to transition smoothly through the menopause, Life + Lemons practitioners aim to help you uncover what is happening at the root of the issue and provide you with a whole systems, integrative approach to each treatment plan to help you reconnect with the innate wisdom of your body.

Your Treatment

There is no one-size-fits-all, and each individual is recognised as being unique. Prior to recommendations being made, time will be spent looking not just at your current diet, but also your lifestyle and health history, with the use of a comprehensive questionnaire that will allow us to really dive deep into all aspects of your health journey since birth.

Further functional testing might be required to get insight on what is really going on, but we will always discuss this with you at your first consult.

Supplements will be recommended if appropriate, if taken this and any change to diet should be discussed with your GP.

It’s always important to ensure that any nutritional therapist you work with is both registered and insured.

About your practitioner

Ilaria Bilancini offering Nutritional Therapy at Life + Lemons.

“My aim as a Nutritional Therapist is to support women and to create natural, positive, long-lasting change in both their physical and mental health. Our physical, mental and spiritual health is intrinsically linked, when there is an imbalance in one, the others are affected. Our hormones play a pivotal role in maintaining this delicate balance at all stages of our lives, from the first bleed to menopause and beyond.
As modern women, we are unfortunately led to believe that our reproductive years and beyond can often look like a path disseminated with struggles, pain (physical and emotional), defeats. But it doesn’t have to be like that and I want the women of the Sheffield community to know that you can regain control over your own health for a better womanhood experience.
