Period pain relief

Acupuncture has proven to be very effective for reducing the intensity of menstrual cramps and the length of time the pain is experienced. Unlike painkillers it doesn’t just treat the symptoms as they occur, but has an effect to lessen period pain for future cycles…

“I had severe period pain which was impacting my quality of life quite seriously. The benefits of acupuncture were an almost immediate effect which included a better cycle length, much less and now manageable pain”.

Here is a success story from one of lovely patients who found relief from period pain through acupuncture…

I went with Severe pain from my Menstruation cycle & Tension anxiety. I had suffered with this sinceI was 14 after having a Teratoma on my ovary, and having a left oophorectomy. It was really getting me down and my symptoms were awful throughout my entire Cycle and it was making me struggle with Working full time.
I Heard about Kimberley from my Cousin, who had been TTC and saw it on a forum on facebook.I had previously had  acupuncture at my GP before for Back pain and I wanted to give it a try for my periods. I was so glad I chose to come to Life + Lemons as I was made to feel at ease straight away and I felt like I was finally being heard after being fobbed off a lot by various drs.I felt so much better after my first session, I slept better and felt less anxious, I even had more energy for jogging more often. I had 8 sessions within 4 weeks and my symptoms had improvedand I felt more like me again.I felt relaxed and like each session was an improvement in my mental well being as well as physical health.I would highly recommend Acupuncture, Kimberley Shepherd is fantastic and really listenscarefully so that she gives the correct treatment plan, when I had it at my GP I don’t think hegot it quite right, whereas Kimberley’s approach was spot on for my issues.
I found Acupuncture at Life + Lemons to beBalancing, Supportive and Powerful.

Yet another success story from one of the people who matter the most to us at Life and Lemons…

I had severe period pain which was impacting my quality of life quite seriously. With little help from GPs, it was causing me to take time off work and I felt like I was loosing weeks at a time each month from the widespread symptoms such as cramping, headaches, sore muscles, nausea and vomiting.

I suffered for multiple years been passed around from GP to specialist without gaging any real understanding or help as to way or what to do and was recommended to take high doses of codeine each period.

Life and lemons felt like my last try at finding some release and I’m so glad I did. I previously didn’t know anything about acupuncture and was quite unsure if it would be right for me but after my initial consultation with Kimberley, I knew it was a safe place to ask for help and to be guided towards a more holistic approach to my health as a whole as I also have fibromyalgia.

To say I was hooked would be an understatement, the clinic is a beautiful and calming space that is always spotless and the perfect temperature (a win for those perpetually cold!). Kimberley from the first time we met was fantastic, taking time to fully understand my needs and making sure I felt calm, seen and heard. She explained everything she was doing and my experience was super relaxing and enjoyable.

The benefits were an almost immediate effect which include a better cycle length, much less and now manageable pain and no vomiting which is a huge change for me!

I think I knew from the first treatment that the environment was a perfect place for me but I’d say after 6 weeks I was in awe of the benefits and effects and now 6 months in I literally wouldn’t be without it. Not having to take time off work, miss out on things with friends or having to spend the whole weekend sleeping whilst I’m on my period is just shocking each month and I’m so grateful that a place like life and lemons exists.

I would and have recommended Kimberley and life and lemons and now friends and my mum sees her too, each for a wide range of issues.

I’m so grateful!
