Blend: Top notes of mandarin and orange, heart energising touch of warming and spicy nutmeg, warming stimulating cinnamon and spicy stimulating, warming, clove and base notes of patchouli and tonka.

This is when your period arrives. All your reproductive hormones drop and you will feel tired. Your body is working hard to release the blood in the lining of your uterus, so it’s sending you all the signals to slow down and stop. Think about winter. All the leaves drop from the trees, everything comes to a halt and the animals hibernate – that’s exactly what you should do too.
Build yourself a nest and stay there. We know it’s not always possible for everyone, but if you can rest for the first couple of days of your period, do. Taking this downtime now will help facilitate balance throughout the rest of your cycle.
Orange and Mandarin are used to lift and balance the scent but they have a huge impact on lifting our mental health too when we’re feeling particularly low, stuck or stagnant. In Chinese Medicine, orange is used to tonigy Spleen Qi which is responsible for digestion. When our of balance we will feel very low in energy, have digestive disruption and often feel quite bloated.
A number of studies show that it helps regulate periods and hormones, mood elevator, calming on the senses and can promote good sleep doe the hormonal regulation. Again as with many essential oils it’s anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant. Great for fighting common colds/flu/ perfect for this time of year. In Traditional Chinese medicine, nutmeg is associated with the Spleen, Stomach and Large Intestine meridians, and has pungent and warm properties. Its functions are to warm the Spleen and Stomach, promote the circulation of Qi, and stop help with digestion issues.

Helpful for clearing airways and taking deep breaths so good for panic attacks and more serious anxiety. Circulation boosting. Libido boosting. In Traditional Chinese medicine cinnamon is considered pungent, sweet, and hot, warming and strengthening the Kidney Yang and affecting the Heart, Kidneys, Liver, and Spleen channels. It is used to increase vitality and to treat some types of abdominal pain, dysmenorrhoea, reduced appetite, diarrhoea, and treats pain.
Libido boosting. Anti-anxiety. Enhanced concentration. (Historical connection: The clove tree holds a special symbolism in the islands of its origin; traditionally, when a child was born, locals would plant a clove tree, linking the child’s life to the life cycle of the tree). In Traditional Chinese medicine, cloves have pungent and warm properties, and are associated with the Spleen, Stomach and Kidney meridians. Its functions are to dispel cold, warm the middle burner, push rebellious stomach Qi downward, and warm Kidney Yang.
Helps to fight depression when inhaled by encouraging the release of serotonin and dopamine. These neuro-hormones ease feelings of anger, anxiety and anxiousness, reduces inflammation, stimulates hormones.
