About the Alliance
Pelvic Pain Alliance Sheffield
We are a collaborative network of healthcare providers committed to working at the forefront of pelvic pain management – through a biopsychosocial approach grounded in pain science education and whole-person care.
We recognise that persistent pelvic pain and related conditions are complex and often life-altering. Women living with these conditions frequently navigate a fragmented healthcare system.
We know that everyone’s experience of pelvic pain is individual – the support you need might focus on one specific area of care, or you may have multiple needs that mean working with more than one of our practitioners. We will always support you fully, with compassion and without judgement. Our care is organised around four pathways that can work on their own or together, supporting you holistically.
OUR Approach
A 3D model of care
We take a whole-person approach – addressing the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of pelvic pain. We recognise that persistent pelvic pain isn’t only a physical experience. It weaves into emotional wellbeing, identity, relationships, and quality of life.
We turn the healthcare system around – designing care around your priorities, not ours.
We know that everyone’s experience of pelvic pain is individual. The support you need might focus on one specific area of care, working closely with one practitioner – or you may have multiple needs that mean working with more than one of our team. We will always support you fully, with compassion and without judgement. We also appreciate that needs can change and evolve over time, which might mean aligning with new care pathways to support you.
Our care is organised around four pathways that can work on their own or together, supporting you holistically:

What is the Pelvic Pain Alliance?
The Pelvic Pain Alliance is a collaborative network of four independent healthcare practitioners in Sheffield, each specialising in a different aspect of pelvic pain care – acupuncture, physiotherapy, reflexology, and psychology. We work together to offer holistic, whole-person support.
Do I need a GP referral?
Not at all, but your GP can refer on to us should they feel like you would benefit. We work alongside your medical care and primary physician to help you manage your pain. We also have a no waitlist policy so that you get the care you need, when you need it.
How much does it cost?
Please enquire with the relevant practitioner for individual costing of treatment and on-going care. Our practitioners are all members of professional governing bodies so you may be covered by private healthcare insurance too. Individual policies vary to please reach out to your provider for further information.
What happens after I make an enquiry?
Your practitioner will arrange a discovery call to talk through your individual needs and discuss with you the best next steps. This may be with any one of our team, or it may be a direct referral to our local network of specialists. Either way, we aim to ensure you get the support you need.
What if I'm not sure which practitioner to see first?
No problem! Speak to any one of our team and we will hep guide you as to who you should speak to on the next stage of your healing journey.
Can I see more than one practitioner?
Absolutely! We specialise in collaborative care. With your permission, we will discuss your case and create you an integrated care plan combining the knowledge and skills of one or multiple practitioners within our network.
Is my information kept confidential?
All our patient information is 100% confidential. All our practitioners are part of the ICO and all our systems are GDPR compliant.
Are you accepting new practitioners?
We are always open to working with like-minded practitioners that share our same vision and mission. If this resonates with you, get in touch!
We understand that healthcare and wellness needs change and evolve
Whether you’re ready to take the first step or just want to learn more, we’re here. Reach out to any of our practitioners directly – or follow us on social media to stay connected.
