“I have hardly any pain now”: Ruth’s acupuncture for endometriosis story

October 21, 2026

Less pain. More manageable flares. Care that feels personal.

Ruth sought acupuncture for endometriosis at Life + Lemons in Sheffield as part of her approach to endometriosis pain management. In the Google review she shared about her care at Life + Lemons, she describes changes in pain, flares and PMS, alongside something that deserves attention in its own right: feeling listened to.

“I have hardly any pain now and if I do have a flare it is so much more manageable.”

Acupuncture for endometriosis: what Ruth wanted help with

Ruth came to see Kimberley for acupuncture to help manage her endometriosis. In her review, she explains that treatment has made a remarkable difference to her experience of symptoms.

She reports much less pain, more manageable flares and improved PMS. For her, these changes have made living with endometriosis feel more manageable.

“She tailors each treatment depending on how I’m feeling”

A diagnosis gives us important information, but it does not tell us everything about how someone feels on a particular day. At Life + Lemons, we check in at each appointment and adapt treatment to the person in front of us.

For Kimberley, that means considering symptom changes, cycle stage, comfort with treatment and whether someone is trying to conceive. Her specialist training in electroacupuncture informs the treatment options she discusses and uses where appropriate.

Ruth noticed that individual attention. As she puts it: “She tailors each treatment depending on how I’m feeling when I see her.”

Feeling comfortable enough to relax

The treatment experience mattered to Ruth too. She describes finding it difficult to relax during treatments like this, yet almost falling asleep during her appointments at the clinic.

Feeling apprehensive is something we can talk through. We explain what treatment involves, start gently when needed and adjust to your comfort. You can always ask us to pause.

Being listened to is part of the care

One sentence in Ruth’s review particularly stayed with me:

“Kimberley is so lovely and truly listens, which in itself feels like a rare thing in women’s healthcare.”

In my work with women experiencing pelvic pain, I often hear how exhausting it is to keep explaining the impact of symptoms.

Listening helps us understand what matters to each patient. We ask what symptoms interrupt, what has already been tried and what a useful improvement would look like. We then keep reviewing the plan, rather than assuming every appointment should be the same.

Ruth’s review in full

“I’ve been seeing Kimberley for acupuncture since February 26, to help me manage stage 4 endometriosis, and the impact these treatments have had has been remarkable. I have hardly any pain now and if I do have a flare it is so much more manageable. My PMS symptoms are also so much better than before I started these treatments. As well as this, I love coming to their beautiful clinic and as someone who finds it very hard to relax during treatments like this, I almost fall asleep during every session! Kimberley is so lovely and truly listens, which in itself feels like a rare thing in women’s healthcare. She tailors each treatment depending on how I’m feeling when I see her. I would absolutely recommend Life and Lemons and will be continuing my journey with them.”

Ruth, Google review

Ruth’s words describe her individual experience. People respond differently, and her review cannot predict your results. Acupuncture is offered alongside medical care and does not replace investigation, prescribed treatment or surgery when needed.
