Join me on Saturday 18th March and receive a full acupuncture treatment in a unique, multi-bed setting offering effective, sustainable relief for symptoms of stress & pain.
Collaborating again with Unity Yoga Sheffield, you will be welcomed in to a restful, healing space for 40 minutes of relaxation, surrounded by like-minded people and warming tea for these cold, wintery days.
Who is this for?
Stress manifests itself in many ways, often in ways that we don’t even realise. When our bodies reach this level of stress, we release certain hormones that can have catastrophic effects on our bodies when left unmanaged. Examples include:
-
Digestive problems // IBS, colitis, diverticular disease, acid reflux, haitus hernia’s
-
Skin problems // ezcema, acne, dermatitis.
-
Breathing problems // asthma and allergies
-
Heart problems // high blood pressure and angina
-
Pain conditions // osteoarthritis, lower back, neck and shoulder pain, migraines
-
Mental-emotional disorders // sleeplessness, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional outbursts, mental fatigue and low moods/depression.
What do all these things have in common? INFLAMMATION! The stress hormones in our bodies create and irritate our cells leading to chronic inflammatory disorders, such as those mentioned above. This clinic is for anyone therefore that is suffering with symptoms of stress and is seeking natural, sustainable means to manage and eliminate these issues. Whether you are a seasoned acupuncture patient or this is your first time, you are all welcome.
More Info
There are many ways and means that we can reduce the destructive side-effects of stress naturally, for example, through adopting an alkaline diet (inflammation is acidic to the body), proper hydration, breathing practices and meditative movement therapies such as yoga or cycling. But one of the most effective ways to create long-lasting change to way your mind and body operatate is through the practice of Acupuncture.
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are based on the understanding that health is achieved through balance. Optimum health is a state of balance (homeostasis) or equalibrium that the body is constantly working to maintain. These symptoms of stress and inflammation help acupuncturists to define patterns of imbalance and create a personalised treatment plan for each patients unique picture of health.
Acupuncture has been found to be as effective as conventional medicine for many of these symptoms listed above, inparticular pain and psycho-emotional disorders. It can also be safely combined with conventional medical treatments helping to reduce their side effects and enhance their beneficial effects.
Acupuncture is believed to stimulate the nervous system and cause the release of neurochemical messenger molecules. The resulting biochemical changes influence the body’s homeostatic mechanisms, thus promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Stimulation of certain acupuncture points has been shown to affect areas of the brain that are known to promote relaxation and deactivate the ‘analytical’ brain, which is responsible for insomnia and anxiety. A common side-effect from acupuncture treatment is a feeling of mental restfullness and relaxation during and immediately after treatment!

What to expect
You will lie down, fully clothed on a yoga bed, made comfortable with blankets, bolsters and blocks. You will be offered a short consultation by myself to ensure the treatment is tailored specifically to your needs. This is then followed by a deeply relaxing and effective acupuncture session, resting for 30-40 minutes. Warming herbal teas will be served after your treatment.
Before the treatment, I will personally send you an initial consultation form for you to fill out. Please send it back to me by email. I will then review it personally and create a unique treatment plan, specific to your health needs which we will follow on the day of treatment.
Part of the concept of this pop-up clinic is that we create a group healing space through a multi-bed treatment setting. You will therefore be relaxing in a room with up to 5-6 other people, each receiving
“How can acupuncture help with symptoms of stress?”
