“My husband and I had been trying to conceive for a couple of years at the point I started receiving acupuncture at the Life and Lemons clinic. During this time we’d had two miscarriages, both during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Following the second miscarriage I underwent standard tests via the NHS, all of which came back with ‘normal’ results, and so we then started trying again for a baby. Having got pregnant previously within a few months of trying, I assumed we’d get pregnant again fairly quickly, so when this didn’t happen I was keen to explore other options to help with fertility, especially given my age (I was 41 at this point, so knew that time wasn’t on my side). I’d been having reflexology for several years (a treatment I enjoyed for overall health and wellbeing), and my reflexologist recommended Life + Lemons clinic, as she knew that Kimberley specialised in fertility.

Kimberley’s approach and expertise has been instrumental during my fertility journey. She took a holistic approach to my overall health (as I have an auto immune condition) and ensured my treatment was tailored to my needs at any given point. Due to her wealth of knowledge and experience, she was able to signpost my husband to specific sperm testing, and I was also signposted to specialist additional testing related to my auto immune condition. These tests, provided by external clinics, went far beyond what was offered as standard tests on the NHS and we would have struggled to know where to go or how to access them without Kimberley’s advice. Thankfully all these tests came back as normal, but it was reassuring to know we had given ourselves the best chance of conceiving by following Kimberley’s recommendations of additional testing.

I always found the acupuncture sessions so beneficial; the clinic itself is a lovely, calm and welcoming space, and Kimberley is so supportive and empathetic. Being on the fertility journey is very stressful and exhausting, and Kimberley was so encouraging and reassuring, and gave me so much hope when it was difficult for me to see any. I always felt so much better and more relaxed after having a session with Kimberley. She also provided brilliant advice beyond acupuncture; on her recommendation I made changes to my diet and took some supplements to help with fertility, and I really felt the benefits of these to my overall health.

In the end we decided to go down the IVF route (and did this via a private clinic). Going through IVF has its mental and physical challenges, but having acupuncture really helped me through this and Kimberley was so supportive every step if the way. She always took the time to find out how I was feeling (physically and mentally) each time I saw her, any pregnancy symptoms I was experiencing, and tailor made the treatment accordingly each time. I’m delighted to say we now have our
beautiful baby daughter who was born a few weeks ago and we are over the moon. 

Receiving acupuncture was a big part of my fertility journey and I would highly recommend Kimberley and Life + Lemons clinic to anyone who is struggling with their fertility. I wasn’t sure about the impact and benefits of acupuncture before having it, but I can honestly say that it’s made a massive difference to me over the last couple of years and has ultimately helped me and my husband to achieve our dream of becoming parents.”
